TEEN PIC 'SCARED' STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
Distribbery picks up internat'l rights to horror flick

L.A.-based sales and distribution company Lightning Entertainment has acquired international distrib rights to Honey Creek Pictures' teen horror pic "Dead Scared" from Lantern Lane Entertainment.

Written and directed by Rolfe Kanefsky, the film which will have its world premiere at AFM. Story concerns five college kids trapped in a haunted mansion who, one by one, become possessed by the demonic spirit of an evil professor.

Pic marks the feature acting debut of model and former E! Entertainment host Brooke Burke and stars Brad Dourif, Parry Shen, Philip Andrew, Charmaine Degrate, Jeremy Maxwell, Nectar Rose, Tiffany Shepis and David Tom.

"Scared," Honey Creek's first feature production, was produced by Tom Seidman and exec produced by L. William Seidman, Richard Manus and George Manus.

Deal was negotiated between Lightning president Richard Guardian and partners Marc Greenberg and Rich Goldberg and David Garber of Lantern Lane Entertainment for Honey Creek.

Lightning is currently handling international sales on a number of other horror pics and thrillers, including "The Hollow," "Brew," "American Crime" and black comedy/thriller "Nicotina."
